Hi I’m Dewan, a developer advocate from the East coast of Canada. I consider myself a generalist but mostly focus on cloud and DevOps topics. If you’d like to know the type of work I do at Aiven, check out this Terraform cookbook.
Outside of work, I help underrepresented groups to start a career in tech by offering free resume reviews.
I’m mostly active on LinkedIn but you can find me on Twitter as well.
Hi there, I’m Angie Byron, the new Director of Community at Aiven! This is my first week, and I’m super excited!
I hail from Vancouver, Canada with my partner, kiddo, and our pets (cat, dog, and lizard :)). I’ve been super passionate about open source since before that was even a term, and can’t wait to get to know you all!
Hello world! I’m Juha. I work in Aiven. I mostly deal with Aiven for Kafka and Aiven for Flink development, but I also do some occasional Karapace development.
I work in Aiven as a Customer-Centric Engineer (CCE) specialising mainly in Postgres and MySQL, but I also dabble in Kafka, Redis and a few other technologies.
You’ll find me either digging deep into issues causing pain for our customers, identifying bugs/enhancements, reporting these to their respective place (e.g. MySQL bugs tracker), or trying to figure out workarounds/solutions to them.
I also work on internal tooling so that we can accelerate engagement with our customers in order to improve their experience with the services we provide here at Aiven.
If you are affected by any particular issue and feel you can’t get through to the right place or that it isn’t being prioritised appropriately, please reach out to me!
Hi, I’m Julien. At Aiven, I mostly help out users of Apache Kafka in achieving their goals. Before that, I worked as a Java developer, Big Data engineer and Cloud architect.
Hi! I’m Tibs (they/them or he/him) and I work at Aiven in DevRel.
Before 2022 I was a software developer for a good few years - find out more at https://tonyibbs.co.uk.
I live in Cambridge, in the UK.
Before joining Aiven, learning about Apache Kafka was on my bucket list. Now I get to do it for work!

I’m Chief Architect at Amplifier Security. We are a start up focused on Human Centric Security. I’m mostly writing code, talking to customers, and breaking stuff. We have a Node/TypeScript stack running on GCP. We use Aiven for MySQL right now, with plans to add Redis, and Graphana. Future use cases will probably leverage Kafka for real time event processing, and ClickHouse for data analytics.
I’m excited to see what’s next for the platform.
I’m Jeff, a fellow crab here at Aiven hailing from Austin, Texas.
I manage our global demand generation and field marketing teams. I’m passionate about learning about our customers and supporting the community however I can. I joined Aiven because I love open-source. In a former life, I helped the US government create publicly accessible datasets and APIs, and adopt open-source and github (primarily at the US Census Bureau with the CitySDK project)
If you are in the Austin area I’m always up for tacos or bbq
