Reduce cross-AZ traffic with AZ-aware listeners for diskless topics

You can now use availability zone (AZ)-aware listeners with diskless topics in Aiven for Apache Kafka® to route producer and consumer traffic to brokers in the same availability zone, helping reduce cross-AZ network traffic and data transfer costs.

AZ-aware listeners provide an AZ-specific Kafka endpoint for each availability zone. Configure your clients to use the endpoint for their AZ without changing the existing client.id.
