We’re a global team of over 400 people, working together to push the boundaries of open-source technology and multi-cloud solutions. Our vision is to help developers, builders, and creators bring their ideas to life with speed and simplicity, by providing a cloud data platform that makes open-source databases, search, streaming, and application infrastructure easily accessible to everyone.
The Role:
We're looking for a Lifecycle Marketing Manager to own the end-to-end user journey for Aiven's self-serve customer base. This role is deeply focused on what happens after someone signs up — turning new users into activated ones, activated users into paying customers, and paying customers into expanded accounts.
You'll combine segmentation, behavioural data, and personalised messaging to build a lifecycle program that drives measurable monetisation outcomes. This includes everything from in-console nudges to nurture flows to expansion signals.
What You'll Do:
- Own the full user lifecycle from sign-up through activation, conversion, retention, and expansion
- Design and execute nurture programs tailored to where users are in their journey — onboarding sequences, re-engagement flows, and milestone-based triggers
- Build and manage in-console messaging and product nudges in partnership with Product — surfacing the right prompt to the right user at the right moment
- Develop and maintain user segmentation frameworks based on product usage, firmographics, and behavioural signals
- Drive monetisation programs: identifying users with high conversion or expansion potential and delivering targeted interventions (upgrade prompts, usage-based triggers, tier nudges)
- Work closely with Product and Data teams to define the signals that indicate activation, health, and churn risk — and build automated responses to them
- Own lifecycle reporting: activation rates, conversion rates, expansion revenue influenced, and churn metrics
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in lifecycle, CRM, or retention marketing, ideally at a SaaS or PLG company
- Deep understanding of user journey mapping and funnel-based thinking
- You're highly data-driven, you can build a cohort, read a funnel, and turn behavioural signals into a clear hypothesis worth testing.
- Experience with marketing automation and lifecycle tooling (e.g. Customer.io, Braze, Iterable, or similar)
- Familiarity with in-product messaging tools (e.g. Intercom, Pendo, or similar) is a strong plus
- Strong collaboration skills, this role sits at the intersection of Marketing, Product, and Data
