    Aiven for MySQL

Aiven for MySQL® has been upgraded to the latest minor version 8.4.11, which contains a variety of fixes to previous versions. Removing bugs and security vulnerabilities increases database performance, improves service availability, and helps ensure business continuity. Existing instances will be scheduled for a rolling upgrade as part of our standard maintenance cycle.

Notable changes in this release include:

  • Optimizer fixes: corrected results for UNION queries with pushed-down conditions, nested merged views with outer joins, and reverse index range scans with ORDER BY and LIMIT.
  • InnoDB fixes: resolved a B-tree deadlock, a temporary tablespace truncation deadlock, skipped records when adding an AUTO_INCREMENT column, and spurious row size errors on spatial indexes.
  • Replication fixes: replication treats SOURCE_RETRY_COUNT=0 as unlimited reconnect attempts, and several replica apply issues are fixed.
  • Lower memory use after upgrades: improved memory management when you upgrade from older 8.x releases with thousands of tables, views, routines, and events.
  • Audit log: fixed account filtering that could stop audit logging, and added the Audit_log_file_count status variable.
