Changelog
Upgrade to OpenSearch® 3.8
New
Aiven for OpenSearch®
OpenSearch® version 3.8 is now available for Aiven for OpenSearch® services. Apply this version on your services to benefit from the 3.8 improvements.
Highlights
- Faster vector ingestion: Base64-encoded vector ingestion for knn_vector fields cuts network payload by 74%, delivering up to 4.16x higher bulk ingestion throughput and 83% lower median latency. A benefit for anyone running large-scale semantic search or RAG pipelines.
- Broader MCP support for AI agents: Model Context Protocol (MCP) support now extends to flow and conversational flow agents, so all four agent architectures can connect to external MCP-compliant tool servers through a consistent connector configuration.
- Better log analytics with PPL: A new visual PPL query builder lets you construct queries from menus instead of writing raw PPL, four new PPL commands (makeresults, foreach, xyseries, and timewrap) enable period-over-period comparisons, and a new lint engine flags mistakes as you type.
- Faster troubleshooting in Dashboards: A new Grok Debugger in Dev Tools lets you validate Grok patterns against a sample log line, and a new "Create alert rule" action lets you go from spotting a metric pattern to alerting on it without leaving the page.
- Security fix: The release upgrades dependencies to address CVE vulnerabilities.
