Karapace 6.2.4 now available with IMPORT mode for schema migration

Karapace 6.2.4 is now available as a maintenance update for Aiven for Apache Kafka®.

New feature

  • Schema migration with IMPORT mode: Migrate schemas from another schema registry and keep their original schema IDs and version numbers. You can set IMPORT mode for the entire registry or for a single subject. To export and import schemas between registries, use the sr_migrate.py migration script. For migration steps, see Migrate schemas with IMPORT mode.

Improvements and fixes

  • OIDC authentication: The iss and aud claims are now optional when you configure OpenID Connect (OIDC) authentication for Schema Registry.
  • GET /schemas response: By default, the endpoint now returns only current schemas. To include soft-deleted schemas, set deleted=true. Previously, the endpoint returned soft-deleted schemas by default.
