We’re a global team of over 400 people, working together to push the boundaries of open-source technology and multi-cloud solutions. Our vision is to help developers, builders, and creators bring their ideas to life with speed and simplicity, by providing a cloud data platform that makes open-source databases, search, streaming, and application infrastructure easily accessible to everyone.

The Role:

This is an experienced Pricing and Packaging Manager position focused on operationalizing our monetization strategy. Reporting to the senior leader overseeing our product and monetization strategy, you will be the analytical backbone and day-to-day engine for how we translate product value into predictable revenue streams.

Your core mission is to manage and optimize our pricing and packaging in a highly competitive and price sensitive environment. Your goal is to support the maximization of customer adoption, retention, and expansion, while maintaining clear alignment with underlying cloud costs. This role requires a blend of deep analytical rigour, research, hands-on product collaboration and experience rolling out large pricing changes.

What You'll Do:

You will own the tactical execution and analytical discovery for our pricing and packaging decisions:

  • Product Team Partnership: Serve as the dedicated pricing expert, collaborating daily with Product Management to define the packaging and pricing for new features, products, and platform changes.
  • Cloud Cost Mastery: Develop an in-depth understanding of cloud computing costs related to our offerings and model how changes in infrastructure or product usage impact our margins.
  • Analytical Modeling: Utilize your advanced analytics skills to build, maintain, and own complex financial models that project revenue, costs, and margins for various pricing scenarios, new usage metrics, and expansion strategies.
  • Usage Research & Analysis: Lead research projects to model customer consumption patterns, analyze usage and other key attributes, and determine optimal pricing metrics that capture value fairly for both the company and the customer.
  • Implementation Oversight: Collaborate with Go To Market, Finance, and Product Engineering to ensure pricing changes are accurately configured, communicated, and flawlessly implemented in our billing and other systems.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience: 4+ years in a role focused on pricing, monetization, finance, or business analytics within a SaaS, PaaS, or Cloud Infrastructure business.
  • Direct experience with usage-based or consumption-based pricing models common in PaaS/data infrastructure.
  • Analytical Expertise: Proven proficiency in advanced analytics techniques and tools (e.g., expert SQL, Python/R, or equivalent) to analyze datasets and drive data-backed recommendations.
  • Financial Modeling: Demonstrated ability to build sophisticated, transparent, and scalable pricing models (including cost-plus and value-based models) that translate technical variables into financial outcomes.
  • Domain Knowledge: Solid working knowledge of cloud computing infrastructure and costs, and how resources like CPU, storage, and networking are consumed and billed.
  • Communication: Exceptional ability to synthesize complex analysis into clear, pragmatic recommendations for Product Managers and senior leadership.
  • Ownership: Ability to independently manage multiple projects, drive day-to-day execution, and serve as the main point of contact for pricing within assigned product areas.
