|RSS FeedOver the past year, we’ve taken significant steps to strengthen our approach, from refining our policies to improving our data collection and aligning with evolving regulatory expectations. Here’s an overview of our progress and what’s ahead for 2025.
What We’ve Accomplished
In 2024, we focused on building a strong foundation for sustainability at Aiven:
• Double Materiality Assessment (DMA): We conducted our first DMA to identify and prioritize our most significant environmental and social impacts, a crucial step in preparing for CSRD compliance.
• CSRD Gap Analysis: We mapped our current ESG disclosures against CSRD requirements to understand where we need to improve.
• Emissions Data Remediation: We worked on improving the quality of our carbon footprint data, covering emissions from offices, business travel, and supplier activities.
• Supplier Code of Conduct & Mapping: We introduced a Supplier Code of Conduct and began assessing our suppliers to ensure alignment with our sustainability expectations.
• UK Modern Slavery Act Compliance: We published our first UK Modern Slavery Statement, reinforcing our commitment to responsible business practices.
• Policies & KPIs: We drafted key ESG policies and defined KPIs to measure our progress in different areas.
What’s Next for 2025
Building on this momentum, we have ambitious goals for the year ahead:
• Sustainability Report: We will publish our first sustainability report to transparently share our progress and commitments.
• CSRD Readiness: We will continue refining our policies, KPIs, and data collection processes to align with CSRD requirements.
• New Initiatives & Training: We plan to expand internal sustainability training, further develop our IT refurbishment program, roll out our policies, and refine our approach toward cloud-related emissions for ourselves and our customers.
A Focus on Our Carbon Footprint Tool
One of our key sustainability initiatives is our Carbon Footprint Tool, designed to measure the emissions impact of cloud usage for Aiven and our customers. In 2025, we will evaluate how to further develop this tool to provide even more actionable data and drive emissions reductions across our operations and services.
Sustainability is an ongoing journey, and we are committed to making continuous improvements. By strengthening our policies, improving our data, and embedding sustainability deeper into our decision-making, we aim to build a more responsible and resilient Aiven. Stay tuned for more updates as we move forward!
