We are proud to share that Aiven has been awarded the Top Tech Award in the “Transformation and Cloud” category by L’Informaticien, one of France’s leading IT publications. The honour comes as part of the 2025 Top Tech Awards, a celebration of standout achievements in digital innovation, transformation, and cloud excellence.

This award is a major milestone. With more than 70 organisations competing across various categories, and with a judging panel made up of IT leaders and L’Informaticien’s editorial board, the competition was fierce. Winning in a category as pivotal as cloud transformation is not only a rewarding moment for us, but also a reflection of the work and values we bring to our customers every day.

We’re grateful to the organisers and judges for recognising our efforts. We also extend our congratulations to all the other finalists. The shared ambition and innovation in this space is what drives the industry forward.

Bringing the cloud to back market

The customer that helped secure this award was Back Market, the leading French marketplace for refurbished electronics. With millions of users and an enormous volume of transactions, Back Market needed to modernise its infrastructure, but without disrupting the smooth customer experience its users expect.

Working closely with its teams, Aiven supported a full migration of Back Market’s real-time data infrastructure to Google Cloud, while ensuring continuity of service throughout the process. Apache Kafka clusters were moved seamlessly with no downtime. From start to finish, the goal was to enable scalable growth, reduce operational costs, and improve data responsiveness—all without interrupting a single customer journey.

The results speak for themselves. Real-time data processing became faster and more reliable, helping to elevate the overall customer experience. Infrastructure costs were significantly reduced, exceeding the typical 40% average savings we see with our AI data platform. At the same time, the move to Google Cloud allowed Back Market to lower its environmental impact, thanks to the use of energy-efficient, renewable-powered infrastructure.

This wasn’t just a technical success. It was a business one. With Aiven’s managed services, Back Market’s teams were able to shift their focus from infrastructure maintenance to customer value, all while future-proofing the platform for further growth.

Transformation made manageable

Cloud transformation doesn’t need to be disruptive. At Aiven, we’ve always believed that cloud infrastructure should serve the business, and not the other way around. That’s why our focus is on making complex data infrastructure simple, scalable, and sustainable.

Our cloud platform gives organisations the tools to deploy and manage open-source data infrastructure like; Apache Kafka, PostgreSQL, and more, across their cloud of choice. From migration and scaling to performance, and compliance, everything is fully managed and backed by 99.99% availability SLAs. Our customers are free to focus on delivering value to their users, without the operational overhead.

Whether it's simplifying multi-cloud deployments, supporting real-time data streaming, or enabling greener IT practices through more sustainable infrastructure choices, Aiven brings a practical, outcome-focused approach to transformation. It’s this combination of technical expertise, hands-on support, and alignment with business goals that helped us stand out in this year’s awards.

What’s next and when to celebrate

This recognition from L’Informaticien is not only a celebration of what we’ve achieved, but also a signal of the kind of transformation our customers can expect when they work with us. We’re proud of what we’ve built, and of the role our teams continue to play in helping organisations transform with confidence - from cloud migration and optimisation to ongoing support and innovation.

The official awards ceremony will take place tonight in Paris, where more than 100 CIOs and digital leaders will come together to celebrate this year’s winners. It promises to be a fantastic evening, and we’re looking forward to connecting with peers across the industry, and sharing our learnings in a future blog.
