The Role:

We are looking for a skilled Security Engineer to actively monitor and maintain security controls across our SaaS/PaaS platform and offerings, along with user endpoints. This role is crucial for protecting our business systems and production infrastructure by focusing on the operational health and effectiveness of our core security technologies.

What You’ll Do:

The Security Operations Engineer plays a hands-on role in the day-to-day defense and engineering of the security platform:

  • Advanced Alert Triage and Incident Command: Proactively monitor and conduct in-depth analysis of SIEM alerts and endpoint detection events across the multi-cloud production environment. Serve as a key responder, executing advanced incident response playbooks, performing digital forensics, and leading post-incident remediation and documentation.
  • SOC Tooling Engineering and Optimization: Take ownership of the Security Operations Center (SOC) technology stack. This involves managing, tuning, and optimizing the SIEM and EDR platforms by managing log source on-boarding, creating new use cases, and fine-tuning rules to reduce false positives and improve detection efficacy.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Management: Utilize IaC principles and scripting to manage and deploy security configurations, detection rules, and security infrastructure efficiently and consistently.
  • Threat Hunting: Develop and execute proactive threat hunting queries within security tools to identify stealthy threats. 
  • Cloud Security Operations: Apply a strong understanding of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) to implement, operate, and troubleshoot cloud-native security capabilities, translating security policies into enforceable technical controls.

What We’re Looking For:

Key requirements for success in this hands-on operational and engineering role include:

  • Experience in Information Security: Demonstrated experience in an Information Security role, specifically focused on security operations, analysis, detection, and response.
  • Tooling Expertise: Practical experience with security operations tools, including but not limited to SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), IDS/IPS, and EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) systems.
  • Cloud Proficiency: Practical understanding and experience using the security capabilities of major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Technical Foundations: Excellent Linux systems administration and fundamental networking skills.
  • Scripting and Automation: Solid scripting skills, preferably in Python or Go, for automating security tasks and system integrations, with exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts.
  • Process Knowledge: Strong understanding of the incident response process, digital forensics, and core enterprise information security fundamentals.
