Together with the CPTO, you will build the monetization team at Aiven, and design and operate market and research-focused tools to integrate pricing and packaging into our product delivery practices.

This role is a key member of the product leadership organization reporting to the CPTO.

You'll be responsible for building and executing a comprehensive plan to drive revenue growth for our data services, used by hundreds of thousands of developers globally. This role requires a leader who can navigate the complexities of competing and partnering with hyperscalers while optimizing our OEM, product-led growth (PLG), and enterprise sales channels. You will be a key player in shaping our pricing, packaging, and go-to-market strategies, ensuring we deliver value to our customers and achieve our business goals.

We are looking for an expert who can engage with product managers, engineering, finance, legal and go-to-market to effectively drive pricing and packaging within Aiven. You will be very close to our field in helping support the organization with strategic customers while getting direct feedback.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and Execute a Monetization Strategy: You will build and lead our company-wide monetization strategy. You'll be responsible for creating a comprehensive plan to drive revenue growth while navigating the competitive landscape, including hyperscalers. Your expertise will be crucial in optimizing revenue across our OEM, product-led growth (PLG), and enterprise customer segments.
  • Shape Pricing and Packaging: You'll be the key leader in defining our pricing and packaging models. This involves working closely with product managers, engineering, and finance to ensure our offerings are competitive, valuable to customers, and aligned with our business goals. You'll translate market insights into effective pricing strategies that drive adoption and revenue.
  • Perform In-Depth Analysis: You will leverage your in-depth cloud computing cost expertise to build models for Aiven services. We are a hands-on place and you will leverage your SQL skills to get into the details.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Collaboration: You will act as the central point of contact for all monetization initiatives. Your role requires close collaboration with various teams, including product management, engineering, finance, legal, and our go-to-market teams. You'll ensure that all teams are aligned on monetization goals and strategies.
  • Support Go-to-Market Efforts: You will work directly with our field teams to support strategic customer deals and gather direct feedback from the market. Your insights will be essential in refining our monetization strategy and ensuring our offerings meet the needs of our customers. You'll be a trusted advisor for our sales organization.
  • Build and Lead a Research Function: You will build and lead a research function to provide the data and insights needed for our monetization strategy. This includes conducting in-depth research on developer buying behavior and preferences for cloud services, as well as analyzing pricing strategies of competitors and third-party platforms. You will also gather direct feedback from our customers and partners, ensuring our pricing and packaging models are always aligned with market realities and the value our products deliver.
