Head of Product Operations

Lisbon, Portugal

Apply now

Together with the CPTO, you will build the product operations function from the ground up, leveraging and experimenting with AI-powered capabilities to define what good operations look like in the world of Artificial Intelligence.

At Aiven, we're not just building cloud data services; we're empowering developers worldwide to build the next generation of incredible applications.  Our ambitious vision requires a strategic orchestrator - a Head of Product Operations - to be a key member of the product leadership organization reporting to the CPTO.

We're looking for a strategic leader to join our team and help us redesign our product development process. You'll be the key leader connecting product management, engineering, security and go-to-market teams, ensuring our work is efficient, driven by data and AI-powered.

Your main goal is to empower our teams to build and release products that developers love, quickly and with high quality, while staying on top of market changes. If you are a hands-on problem-solver who excels at making things run smoothly and wants to have a real impact, this is your chance to help us shape the future of cloud data services.

You'll have the unique opportunity to transform how Aiven builds and ships products to hundreds of thousands of developers globally.

What you’ll do:

  • Unleash the full potential of our Product Managers by enabling them to build and share a long-term roadmap, relentlessly focused on releasing iterative value to developers while remaining aware of the ever changing market Aiven operates in.
  • Empower our Engineering teams to deliver software that developers love with the speed, quality, security and reliability expected from a core cloud service.
  • Streamline go-to-market collaboration to accelerate our field ability to succeed and keep teams close to our enterprise, self-serve and OEM customers. Design and maintain lightweight processes and touchpoints that ensure swift feedback loops with our stakeholders.
  • Instill a data-driven operating rhythm: Champion a culture of data-driven execution by establishing and leveraging KPIs across the organization to drive informed decisions and continuous improvement.
  • If you're a strategic thinker with a passion for operational excellence, who loves to get stuff done, this is your chance to redefine how we build and ship products at a company that's shaping the future of cloud data services in the AI era.

What We're Looking For:

  • Someone who thrives on solving complex operational challenges: You enjoy dissecting processes and building elegant, data-driven solutions.
  • An effective communicator: You can articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively to both technical and business audiences.
  • Strong business acumen: You understand how product and operational decisions impact the business.
  • Affinity for AI: You believe there is a new world emerging that can be one or more orders of magnitude better and faster.
  • Passion for data and driving improvement: You believe in the power of data to inform decisions and continuously optimize performance.
